This project comprised of external refurbishment works, including the following: - Erection of a fully boarded scaffolding to the block - Overlaying of the existing pitched and two flat felt roof coverings with a Langley felt system - The removal of the existing windows and installation of eighty new powder coated Comar windows - Redecoration of external downpipes and external window cills The external works were carried out concurrently with the internal refurbishment to all three floors to the block, containing two staircases at each end and fourteen classroom/office areas. The internal refurbishment works comprised of: - Complete strip out the existing heating and electrical services; - The removal of Asbestos Containing Material(ACM) located in the internal window cills - Soft stripping of the block in its entirety, including the removal of the existing timber vision panels, vinyl and carpet tile floor finishes and fixed furniture - New suspended ceilings to the corridor areas and ground floor classrooms - Installation of new heating and electrical systems - New vinyl and carpet tile floor finishes - New timber vision panels with Pilkington Pyroshield glass - Full re-decorations.
